Workflow Configuration Inside Actions

As an Administrator you can make some changes to the workflow within actions such as

  • Add Steps
  • Adding Participant Types

You can also create new action types on the fly from the new 'Create' button on the home page.

This saves you having to go back to the Admin area each time you want to make a change and is particularly useful when setting up new systems.  It also provides an easy way for free trial users to create new action types and do some light configuration of the workflow.

See below for a video explaining how to use inline creation to create a new matter type:

Permissions

Setting this permission is a two-step process: (1) Enable the function in general and then (2) enable it for specific action types.

Step1: General Settings

Go to Admin > General > System Preferences and set the "Matter Type Creation" setting to "Allow inline creation".

Step 2: Action Type Settings

The Action Type must also be enabled for inline editing.  All systems created after the July 14 2014 release (Actionstep 14) will have this permission enabled by default, however systems that already existed before this date will not. To enable inline editing open up the Action Type in Admin and click "Edit Action Type" and check the box entitled "Allow inline customizing".

You will only see the option to "add another step" when you get to the very end of your current workflow.
