To enter time, select the Global Create Button > Time Entry. This will launch the time entry form. If created in the context of a matter, that matter’s information will be inherited in the form. |
The Date will default to the current date, and the Timekeeper will default to the current user. If a billable matter has been selected or inherited at the time of creation, the entry will automatically be marked billable and pre-populate with that matter’s bill behavior default and matter/client information.

Customizable hourly rate
This option gives me the ability to enter a billable rate on the fly while I am doing a time entry so I don't have to first go and create a rate label / category that I may only use once. This gives me complete flexibility.
Once created, the rate label can be used in a time entry.
This allows the Rate value to become an editable field. The amount entered is multiplied by the Hrs to bill to calculate the Bill total for the entry.
Fixed fee/flat rate
Once created, the rate label can be used in a time entry.
A Fixed fee/flat rate allows the Bill total to become an editable field. The total is independent from hours. Duration / Hours to bill is completely optional. Basically, this is a flat rate or fixed fee entry.
Bill behavior
Default bill behavior for time entries are inherited from Matter Billing Options. These behaviors determine how entries will be billed.
Bill
- Item will appear on bill as entered.
Hide
- Not included on bill
- Not included in WIP (except for hours on reports)
- Optionally be used for fee allocation
