Actionstep has a lot of reporting functions built into it - from Standard Reports which are run in Actionstep, to Custom List Views which collect information from different parts of Actionstep for export. There are, however, times you might want to build your own custom reports and dashboards based on the data stored in Actionstep. For these situations, Actionstep offers an External Custom Reporting option.

How it works

The service needs to be activated by a user with account authority. You would need to specify your preferred format (SQL-Server or PostgreSQL). Actionstep will then provide you with instructions on how to securely download the file. The file will be refreshed every 24 hours with new data.

Once downloaded you (or your certified consultant) can refresh the local copy of the data by importing the file (using T-SQL for SQL-Server, or psql for PostgreSQL). The file will automatically drop and recreate any required database tables.
