Image assigned to the particular Action type

You can create different Actions to handle different types of jobs(eg, Marketing events, Sales leads, Legal matters, Project management, Employee files). Each type can be assigned a different type of image so that users can easily identify what type of Action they are working with.

Actions Name

This is the name that has been assigned to your Action. Everyone will name their actions differently but normally you will make it something unique that will help you identity the piece of work that your action is covering.

Tip

You can see more information about the Action by clicking on its name (or the information icon Image Removed beside the name). This information will include some of the basic information like Name, Type and File reference that you can see normally but it will also show you:

  • Which staff member the Action is assigned to
  • The Priority of the Action
  • The date the Action was created
  • The date that the action was last updated by an Actionstep User

You will also get access to the Edit button. This allows you to change some of the details of the Action.

Action Type

You can create different Actions to handle different types of jobs(eg, Marketing events, Sales leads, Legal matters, Project management, Employee files). In this space you will see the name of the Action Type.

Action ID

Every Action is assigned an ID number. This helps you track your work with the ID. The ID's are created sequentially and automatically. This means that if your last Action had the ID 1234, the next will have the ID 1235. When you create a new Action this number is assigned automatically by the system and it cannot be changed once created.

Related Actions

You can map some action types to other action types. There are various reasons for doing this but normally it is because you have another set of work that is related to an original set of work. You can use Related Actions to track this. If you have created a related action from the Action that you have open it will tell you in this space. If there is more than one Related Action linked to this Action then it will give you the number of related actions.

You can click on the arrow beside the Related Actions to be able to see the Related Actions and the action types you can create as Related Actions. You can either click the Add New button to create a brand new action or you can search for an existing Action in the box to the right of the Add New button.
