The Workflow Ribbon is the strip across the top of the Action which shows the steps that the Action is on, what steps it has been through and the likely future steps. Each type is coloured to help you identify it better.
Previously completed steps
Light Green steps are ones that you have already completed, in the order that they were completed.
The step the Action is currently on
A Bright Green step is the current step that you are on.
The next available step
A Yellow step is the next step. This step is click-able You can click on it to move to this step.
Your Actions can be configured so at times you have a choice of next steps. If there is the option to choose more than one step to be the next step you move to then within the Yellow box, after the displayed steps name, will be a box which will display a number (the number of alternative choices available) and a drop down arrow. Clicking on this box will display the step choices that you have available. You can then click on any of these steps to move to that step.

Future Steps
Grey Steps are ones that are likely to happen in the future. If you choose the next step displayed in the Yellow step box then these grey boxes are the steps that would follow. You are not locked in to these steps, they are just the most likely process the workflow will take, there could be other options as well.
