Fixes going out to all users:

  • Update permissions to be enforced as a page load. Prior to this users were able to access a data collection of another matter type by changing URL. (Ref: #18724)
  • Resolved an issue with billing on the New Actionstep platform when not using Enhanced billing mode. A supplier invoice entered to be billed onto a client was creating a billable disbursement and a billable purchase. The purchase only is created after the fix. (Ref: #18712)
  • Updated the pt=Spi__TaskParticipant merge field option so that when applied to a system that is on Actionstep's new platform, it shows details of the timekeeper who recorded the fee. As Actionstep's new platform has billable time records rather than billable tasks, this option will now work in both instances. (Ref: #18708)
  • Updated time summary panels so that it directs you to the appropriate screen based on the billing mode used. AI a system that is not set to use Actionstep's enhanced billing mode, the screen directs you to the classic billing screen. In a system with enhanced billing mode on, it will direct you to the billing summary screen. (Ref: #18702)
  • Updated classic billing options so that time records can be placed on hold to mirror previous functionality. (Ref: #18701)
  • Fixed an issue where the setting to make a time record created from a saved phone call record not being applied. (Ref: #18658)

  • Fixed an issue which was stopping users from being able to search the email attachments. On the document screen on a matter, you can search for the root folders on the matter or the email attachments. It was that email attachments option which was not searching correctly. (Ref: #18597)
  • Updated the general retainer column in custom list views. When filtering by this column, you can now search for a range, not just a given value.  (Ref: #18646)
  • Fixed an issue with an ampersand being converted into '&amp' when you edit a file note. (Ref: #18642)
  • Updated the mass billing screen so that it excludes any matters that are marked as closed for billing. (Ref: #18640)
  • Fixed an issue where headers in an invoice were not showing correctly in the PDF of that invoice. This issue was affecting users using classic billing while on Actionstep's new platform. (Ref: #18606)
  • Updated LawToolBox integration so that users have the choice of creating appointments for deadlines set in the past. (Ref: #18577)

  • Reworked the logic that is applied when you convert a file note into an email. If the length of the first line of the file note is 160 characters or longer, then the subject line of the email will only contain the matter number. The body of the email will be made up of the file note. If the first line of the file note is less than 160 characters long then the first line will be used as the subject line with the matter id. The email body will be any remaining lines in the file note. (Ref: #18483)

Fixes going out to all users:

  • Applicable to users using trust accounting the USA, only. Deleted trust transactions will now appear in bank reconciliations along with a reversal transaction. This will be applied to all newly deleted transactions as well as new transactions entered in the system. Users will be able to reconcile the deleted entry and the reversal of that entry as the two transactions will offset each other. (Ref: #18492)
  • Instigated a change that will prevent a user from being able to reverse a payment that is allocated to a retainer to prevent potential issues with future retainer transactions. (Ref: #18296)
  • Fixed an issue where list views when sorted by a matter id were giving errors. (Ref: #18506)
  • Resolved an issue with the Participant KPI report not showing results correctly. (Ref: #18484)
  • Fixed an issue when trying to print a file note opening the print preview more than once. (Ref: #18476)

  • Renamed the AR Balance field in the EBM- WIP report to be called the "Projected AR Balances" to better reflect the information that it gives. The field shows the total value of all invoices whether in draft or saved and also the value of unbilled WIP. (Ref: #18414)
  • Resolved an issue with a change made to a task while in "Edit Mode" not being reflected in the system notes on that matter. (Ref: #18380)
  • The Matter Profitability Report, while still being available previously, has been replaced by Multi Matter Profitability report which offers much better functionality, mostly on the ability to be able to see the profit on more than one matter at a time. By default, the old version of the report has been switched off for new users. Any existing users who access it will see a new warning message advising them to use the Multi- matter profitability report. The report will still work with its limited functionality. (Ref: #18378)
  • Resolved an issue with the Fee Recovery Report where the total of the Write at the bottom of the column was not calculating correctly.(Ref: #18404)
  • Fixed an issue with permissions on tasks where removing write permissions did not prevent users from editing tasks. (Ref: #18346)
  • Resolved an issue with auto-generated emails (ie, on a step change) being sent from an email as set by an alias, not the default email address for that user. (Ref: #18295)
  • Added the ability to be able to set a custom list view as a default view for a system user but also ensure it does not appear in the views menu. For example, creating a custom contact list view and making it the default for your users will, by default, change the default contacts list but also create the custom list as an option on the Contacts menu. If you set the sort order of a custom list to "-1" and as a default, it will show as the default but not as an option in the menu. (Ref: #18209)
  • Resolved an issue with not being able to edit a matter in an out of date version of Safari. (Ref: #18123)
