Workflows (action types) that handle sales leads are no different from regular workflows, except that you will need to take advantage of some of the special fields available to deal with sales pipeline data. You will also most likely want to create some custom action lists to show these fields to provide a sales pipeline reporting capability.

Adding Sales Pipeline Fields to Steps

You can require users to add sales pipeline data on certain steps by editing the Step.


The fields will be displayed as follows on the "change step" screen

Managing Sales Probabilities

One of the challenges of managing a sales team is getting consistency in the reporting of sales probabilities. Some people are natural optimists and think that every sale is certain to close, and others are more cautious. In ActionStep Actionstep you can limit the range of allowable sales probabilities at each step by editing the step in Admin. (See Image Above)

Creating a Custom List

You should create a custom list that includes the sales pipeline fields. This will allow users to manage their sales priorities by filtering and sorting the list. The list can also be exported to Excel for advanced reporting and graphing.
