Occasionally you might want to export your contacts information to import into another program, such as wanting to have all your basic information about contacts in your Outlook. There are two ways that you can export your contacts. Each has its benefits.

Exporting Contacts from the Contacts List screen

The first and easiest way to export your contacts, is to use the export button in the top right of the contacts screen. Go to the contacts list (using the contacts Icon at the top of Actionstep). On this screen on the right hand side is the EXPORT button.

This method of contact export will only include fields shown as columns in the list view you are exporting. You can manipulate these columns by filtering or creating a custom list view.

Exporting Contacts from the Participants - Contacts Import screen

We mention this method as it will give you access to some fields such as middle names that you cannot get in the first option. The format that the contacts are exported using this method is the format that we recommend that people use when importing contacts into Actionstep so there should be little file manipulation required to get it in the format to import it into another system.

To export this data you must have access to the Administration (cogs) menu in Actionstep.

You can now click on the Export Contacts List button - this will download a .csv file onto your machine. This file can then be opened with Microsoft Excel or any other suitable viewer.
