Can I generate Documents for Specific Parties in an Action?
Yes, provided you have linked the document template to the participant type in Workflow Admin. See Document Assembly for details.
When is it Necessary to use HotDocs?
Actionstep document templates are great for most standard business documents (letters, contracts, fee agreements, etc). However if you have complex documents that require interviews, conditional text (if, then, else), or multiple documents generated from a single template then HotDocs is the way to go.
Can I use HotDocs and Actionstep Documents in the same Action?
Yes. To the user it will be transparent. They will be able to choose from a list that contains both HotDocs and Actionstep templates.
Can I use Calculated Merge Fields in an Invoice Template?
Yes, all merge fields work with calculated merge fields. Just be sure to include the merge fields in quotes, even if they are numbers.
