What's Involved In Getting Setup?

Getting setup correctly is the best investment you can make. Here's what's involved.

Quick Start (North America Only)

Once you signup for a live system our support team can help you with the basic setup of your new system. The goal is to get you to a point where you can enter matters and send out bills.

Note: Quick Start does not include any customization or advanced settings

Use a Certified Consultant (Highly Recommended)

We really want to see you get the most out of Actionstep. We have a network of talented and friendly Certified Consultants who will work with you to translate your needs into an effective Actionstep configuration, and train you and your team on how to use it. A small investment of time and money up front will pay huge dividends in the future and will ensure that you get the most out of your new system. Take advantage of their experience and in-depth product knowledge to help you get setup the right way.


Do It Yourself

Moving to a new system is a big decision and will have a big impact on your business. You really need to get it setup correctly to get the most out of it. If you have a lot of time on your hands you can theoretically go through the user guide, watch all the videos, and tinker around with the configuration to set things up yourself. But even if so you could be missing a lot, especially when it comes to best practices for workflows and reporting. You could save yourself a lot of time and get more out of your Investment in Actionstep by letting one of our experienced Certified Consultants guide you through the process.

  • Matter type setup (6 max) - No workflow or custom data fields, client and staff roles only
  • Standard billing template (no customisation)
  • Time-based billing only
  • Rate sheet setup (6 max)
  • Calendar sync (Google and Office 365 only)
  • Basic email setup (plugins and outbound settings only)
  • Standard chart of accounts
  • Go Live Training
  • Data import of matter contacts, matter headers, and file notes (see conditions)

Data Import Conditions

We will import your data on condition that you provide us the data in an Actionstep standard spreadsheet format. You are responsible for removing duplicates and splitting up names, addresses and phone numbers into the correct columns. If you need any help extracting or formatting your data then we recommend using one of our certified consultants.
