Action Templates can be setup to populate the details of a new action quickly. They are especially useful when your actions often have common values. Templates will apply both contacts to parties and custom data values to a matter.

Creating an Action Template

Action Templates are ordinary Actions that are assigned the status of "template". To create one simply create a new Action of the type you want to create the template for.

Action Templates can only be applied to the Action Type they were created for. If you have common values that you want to appear in templates and used against different Action Types you will have to create a separate template for each Action Type.

Populate the newly created action with the contact records and custom data values you would like the template to have.

Now go to edit the Action by clicking on the name of the Action (or click the information 'i' beside the name) and choose Edit.

The Name of the Action you create will be the name of the template.

Now change the status of the Action to "Template" and Save.
